LA CROSSE, Wis. – September 20, 2021 – Majel Hein, Senior Financial Literacy Counselor with the Marine Credit Union Foundation, has been appointed as Chair of the Governor’s Committee on Financial Inclusion, a sub-group of Governor Evers’ Council on Financial Literacy and Capabilities.
Hein has served as a member of the Committee since February of this year when the Council’s scope and mission were expanded. The Council and its sub-committees serve as a sounding board for the Office of the Governor, the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), and DFI’s Office of Financial Literacy, providing guidance and taking focused actions to improve the financial literacy, capability, and inclusion for residents across the state.
As Committee Chair, Hein is leading the group’s efforts to build the financial capability and improve the financial inclusion of Wisconsinites. The Committee is presently engaged in work to develop financial education and inclusion standards of practice for financial services statewide, as well as identifying opportunities to harness state and national programs to advance Wisconsin residents’ financial wellbeing.
